Micheal Giddens is a pianist, historian and fine artist, and holds a Doctoral Degree fromM the University of Melbourne. As part of his musical and artistic studies, Micheal obtained the Diplome from the Dalcroze Insitute in Switzerland. Amongst his prizes is the Freda Cohen Award - University of Melbourne. Micheal has studied painting with Gary and Kathwren Jenkins in the U.S.A. and attended the Annette Kowalski art school in Florida where he obtained a Diploma in Floral Painting. His paintings are in private collections in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, and the U.S.A. A specialist in floral art, Micheal is a regular contributor for the Australian Fine Artist and Decorative Painter Magazine, and has written a monthly column devoted to oil painting since 2009. Although flowers feature extensively in Micheal's work, he also enjoys painting birds, exotic fish, portraits, and the occasional abstract. Micheal exhibits regularly and is a member of both the Artists' Society of Victoria and the Australasian Floral and Fauna Society. Awards include "Honourable Mention" Victorian Artists' Society, Pictorial Artist of the Year 2017, and Floral Artist Prize 2018. Micheal is also proud to be a Fellow of the International Chinese Watercolourists Society for whom he regularly adjudicates.

Have been with gallery247 for 6 years, both free and now paid. Wonderful on line platform for artists which has made my work easy to find and i don't need to worry about setting up my own website; they even forwarded a message from a community college i volunteered for a few years ago, for an art tutor.
