Artist Bio - Constance (formerly Julia) BarkerJULIA BARKER'S passion for her artwork has developed over the past 17 years. She has exhibited locally on the Mornington Pennsula and had 2 successful solo exhibitions, 'Maiden Voyage' and 'The Journey Continues'. She worked under the guidance of Lyn Whitty who opened her to intuitive drawing and pastels. This was the beginning of Julia's love affair with portraits. More recently, under the guidance of Robbie Bischoff - who encouraged experimentation with different mediums. She currently teaches 'Learn to See and Draw' and other drawing classes. JULIA'S STATEMENT "For me it is the feeling of my Art that is the most important. I like to 'capture a moment' - the look, the gesture, the essence that wil touch the viewer. As I continue to develop Spiritually and strengthen my connection with my Guides, I hope this will reflect more and more in my work." |

Have been with gallery247 for 6 years, both free and now paid. Wonderful on line platform for artists which has made my work easy to find and i don't need to worry about setting up my own website; they even forwarded a message from a community college i volunteered for a few years ago, for an art tutor.
