Artist Bio - Sandra Aver

As a child picking up coloured pencils and crayons always felt natural, I loved exploring with colours, patterns and recreating scenes I was in my happy place.   Art has always been my passion throughout life and at this stage as a wife, mother and nonna I am finally doing what I wanted to do when I grow up!  

I appreciate all art whether it is abstract, realistic or historically ancient.  I have travelled to many beautiful destinations around Australia and the world and this is what I like to create in a painting, a moment in time to stay with you forever.

Since moving seaside on the Mornington Peninsula several years ago I love nothing more than going for walks along the beach.  Feeling the warmth of the sun, breathing in the fresh sea air, listening to the gentle waves on the shore line.  I love the colours of the sea and sky with its ever changing scenery.  The beach is my tranquil, peaceful place and it just rejuvenates and inspires me to paint.  

I am loving being in the zone in my own space, music on, paint, brushes and canvas out creating new art works.

My Influences

In 2023 I travelled with my family to Italy visiting the northern Italian alps, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Sardinia, Amalfi Coast and Puglia.   They all had enormous cliffs, mountains and steps!   These amazing places have inspired me to paint and capture their pure beauty.
