Description : The first in my Stained Glass bird series. Rainbow Bee Eater is painted in Windsor and newton watercolour paints on 300gsm hot pressed Fabrino watercolour paper. The Rainbow Bee-eater is most often found in open forests, woodlands and shrublands, and cleared areas, usually near water. It will be found on farmland with remnant vegetation and in orchards and vineyards. It will use disturbed sites such as quarries, cuttings and mines to build its nesting tunnels.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve liked to draw. Although I have experimented with many mediums, Drawing is what I lean towards. Visually and emotionally, I am intrigued by the beauty of nature. These are subjects that I try to explore through expressive paintings.

The questions are simple. How do you paint the essence of  emotion? What makes them what they are? How do you paint the expressiveness of nature? This is the challenge of my work.

It’s easy to paint the surface, it’s far more difficult to paint what lies beneath.
