Pick Me

Description : My inspiration for this work was to create flowers with a very limited palette on a large canvas, using three primary colours plus white. And while I was mixing and letting the flowers find themselves, I couldn’t help but think of the one standing tall at the front saying ‘pick me!’ Come and walk into this floral abundance, turn the corner at the top of the steps and continue up the dots to the sky. Then go back down to the water and take a ride in the boat. Scratching and scraping with a pallet knife and a skewer, there are textures, drips, swirls and squiggles creating interest. Mixed media on Canvas using Acrylic, gesso and graphite. 100cm(W) x 100cm(H) x 6cm(D) Framed in a custom made white float (as pictured) and ready to hang. It’s a fabulous statement piece and would suit above the lounge or entrance. Go on, treat yourself Artist’s signature on the front.

Maree McCrum is a mixed media artist based in NSW, whose bold, expressive works dance between abstraction and memory. Her work is collected in Australia and Internationally. Maree is inspired by trips in Australia and holidays overseas and ofcourse people's feelings. In 2025, she showcased her work at the Affordable Art Fair in Sydney, successfully sharing her vibrant pieces to an even wider audience.
