Heritage Forest

Description : Nature and the environment are always excellent inspiration for painting either through the patterns, subject matter or colours one can see. Heritage Forest is an abstracted representation of forest trees in typical Australian heritage colours. I love these colours and just started painting stripes which evolved into abstracted trees. Although the artwork is painted in a landscape orientation to reflect trees, I actually also like it when hung in portrait orientation as one of the images shows. The choice is up to you. This artwork is unframed and has wire and d-rings ready to hang. The sides are painted continuous with the front so framing is not required. The artist's name is on the front with a signature and stamp on the back. It also comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Images showing framing are indicative only. Enjoy!

"Art comes alive in the eyes of the viewer".

I am an artist based in Brisbane, Australia working primarily in acrylic. As a self-taught artist I enjoy challenging myself and experimenting with different ideas and subject matters exploring the boundless possibilities of this versatile medium. I grew up in a creative family around the visual and written arts and although I principally worked in the information technology and scientific fields, I have experimented with a range of creative activities including sculpting, clay hand building, and glass fusing, before moving into watercolour abstract landscapes, and now abstracts in acrylic.

My preferred art style is abstract and expressionist, and my influences are mostly from the stunning abstract and expressionist works of the mid-20th century. I enjoy experimenting with colours, shapes, patterns, brushstrokes and marks. My approach is generally to reimagine the world around me and try to capture this on canvas. These re-imaginings can be inspired by objects, locations, nature and sometimes just ideas and concepts. Whilst I do sometimes create several paintings in similar styles, I generally feel the need to constantly evolve and not restrict my creativity to any one particular style. My art journey is all about embracing creativity, change, and new and exciting challenges. My mind is overflowing with ideas and the need to explore different works and push my boundaries.

I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enoy making it.
