Artist Bio - Karen Brown

Hello, I am Karen.

Life is better when you are inspired, and there are so many inspiring subjects to draw and paint.

I feel happy to:

. enjoy observing and capturing positive emotions, and the colours of subjects that attract me.

. have access to use a variety of artist mediums (colour pencils, pastels, water colour, gouache on paper and acrylic paint on canvas)

. find inspiration in the simple things, family, sunshine, shadows on the grass, tall white gum trees, the beach, gardens, birds and flowers, in the everyday things, in photos and when travelling further away for breathtaking views to inspire landscapes.

My Influences

I find inspiration in the simple things, sunshine, clouds, shadows on the grass, white gum trees and gardens. Like to observe birds, and appreciate flowers, basically finding beauty in the everyday all around, in photos and when travelling further away for breathtaking views.

In recent years, I have been working in acrylic paint on canvas, enjoying the traditional approach of observing, and expressing the colour, shapes and emotions of my chosen subjects.
