Yellow Concrete 1/5 - Stromlo Series

Description : The Series - Mount Stromlo Observatory has been part of the Canberra skyline for over 100 years. Damaged in the 2003 bushfires, some of the observatory buildings have been left to weather in the elements. Stunning and etheral patterns form as the water seeps through the concrete. Industrial equipment quietly rusts leaving intricate and beautiful textures. This print - limited edition of five (5) - weathered concrete from the Yale-Columbia Dome. Giclee art paper print with matt board and 30mm white frame.

Helen Pizzano is a Canberra based digital artist.

I create circle art from my photos of natural and urban environments: I explore amazing and unique colours and textures found all around us focusing on the beach, bush and urban environments.

I studied Asian Studies and History at UWA in Perth. After moving to Canberra and 16 years in the Public service, I took a redundancy to follow my creative passion.   Studying Visual Art at CIT and now at ANU, I enjoy sharing my perspective on the world.

Using the kaleidoscope technique, I use my photos to create digital circles using computer graphics software. These images are limited edition, printed to Giclee art paper and to 100% pure silk.

My work has been featured in various exhibitions, publications and galleries.
