Artist Bio - CC Herkes
CC HERKES is a mother/son collaboration who create artworks solely from drone photography. Son, Charles is the CASA certified drone pilot, actor and former ballet dancer; and Carolyn is the studio editor with a background in landscape architecture and fashion. It is their shared eye for patterns and a love of drone photography that became the catalyst for their work. It started out as a small project to create patterns for fabric prints and soon developed a trajectory of its own into art photography. CC HERKES was recently awarded RUNNER-UP (ART CATEGORY) for Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers 2021 by Australian Photography Capture Magazine.

Inspired by the great works of Fred Williams, John Olsen and the many inspirational indigenous artists of Australia, they have found their own way of artistic expression through abstract drone photography to speak of the spirituality of the Earth, of our country Australia and hopefully alert and bring attention to the many environmental challenges we all are facing.
