Voyager Sinking

Description : At about midnight on the moonless night of the 10th of February, 1964, after a collision with the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne, the destroyer HMAS voyager, lit by Melbourne's searchlight, sank with the loss of 82 lives. I was one of the about 600 men who watched in absolute silence from Melbourne's flight deck. I have had this picture in my head ever since.
